That’s about as exciting as this currently is here in Laker Land. Damien Jones coming back on vet minimum deal is fine, so was nabbing Troy Murphy for the same and oh yeah that dude who didn’t play much in Golden State. Lonnie Walker the IV is a step back from Malik who did indeed play his way out of town, albeit where NBA careers go to die up in Sacramento. Anyhow, couple more veteran minimums and then we wait for the Nets to gift us a fair-weather player. Which I don’t see happening. “Why?” You might ask. Well I’m assuming Rob holds firm on his stance to not give up draft assets for one. The other is I think the Nets aren’t all that inclined to keep on doing the bidding of Mr. Irving. Second is I don’t expect them to rush into trading KD or Irving. They’re under contract with no leaks of knock out deals on the horizon. They don’t want to tank, they’re looking to reload and rock. Sitting out might be an option for Kyrie, he loves to not play. KD? I don’t think so, he doesn’t throw things away or fritter his time wastefully. He’s chasing records and rings, he’ll play. Nets can make a trade for Ayton, LaVine or another player under contract already. A lot of the biggest and best S&T pieces are already off the board, though. It’s not impossible but I don’t see the Nets giving us a serviceable player like Seth Curry or Joe Harris just to have Westbrook in the roster, buy him out or try to make that work. I think the Nets handle this like the Lakers handled Kobe’s Pluto request: slowly.
Huh.

LOL. The basketball gods blessed the Lakers today.
Kyrie and Harris will be traded to Lakers tomorrow for Russ and our 2029 first round pick. Russ will be gone.
Other pick will go with THT and Nunn for 3&D wing.
By the way, 3 of 4 players who signed today were Klutch Sports clients.

I like the direction we took today and frankly, this really was the only way it could go. None of the targets endlessly bandied about in this space were realistically gonna come here for $6mill..especially when the cap went up more than anticipated. So we got a buncha young, cheap dudes for D.Ham and his guys to develop over a few years. You need those bodies because err’body ain’t gonna pan out. I hope we don’t commit to any bad, long-term contracts in the upcoming weeks.
Still not sure how I feel about Kyrie. On the one hand, he’s single-handedly decimated the Nets. On the other..he has to get his sh!t together eventually..right? Right?

Contract year so as good a time as any to show he likes being in the NBA, I guess… I

We essentially went for youth, athleticism, and defense in the four young players we signed today. Just need to get the shooting we need with Kyrie and Harris for Russ and THT. We keep Nunn as Kyrie’s backup. Still don’t have a real wing. It’s like Rob refuses to sign or trade for one.
