Aloha,
There is only 30 head coaching jobs in the NBA. So of course when one opens up you do want it. Still in the back of these candidates minds they have to be asking themselves, do I really want this? Luke had LeBron and a bunch of kids 4th in the west until LeBron and other key players went down with extended injuries and he got canned. Frank inherited AD and they win a ring. The roster is fiddled with and injuries plagued the team again and they only managed getting into the play in before AD got hurt again. Then the remaining pieces of the championship squad are moved or allowed to walk, replaced by basically Russ and senior citizens. Injuries strike again and Frank is canned. These candidates have to be asking themselves, how much of a chance will I be given? Considering the roster will need to be overhauled yet again, I’m sure they must have some reservations. Who will the lucky guy be😂

The flip side of your argument is the Los Angeles Lakers are still royalty when it comes to the NBA. The most superstars, the most championships, the greatest fanbase in league. Make it in LA and you’ve done it in the hardest place with the greatest pressure in the league. Nothing tops being a champion as a Laker and that’s not going to change. Our next great coach could be Darvin Ham.
