I remember I was driving when the trade announced. I literally pulled off the road and sat there in disbelief as I listened to the interview on the radio. It came from out of the blue. One thing about Mitch was he never tipped his hand. While the trade eventually worked out for the Griz with Marc, the trade was so lopsided at the time that the Lakers could have easily been out bid if others new what Mitch was offering.
I was on Phish tour and was more stoked for the trade news than the show!
Similar story, Michael. I also heard the news while driving. I pulled over got out and danced like a nut š„ on the Gardiner Expressway. Iām sure people thought I was having an episode.
