This is exactly the kind of trade I would love the Lakers to consider. It uses the only trading chips the Lakers have, which are THT’s $10M and Nunn’s $5M contracts. Look for Lakers to be looking at what they can get midseason for THT and Nunn.
Brooks is only 25, averaged 17.9/2.9/2.3 in 29.8 minutes, made 1.9 of 5.6 threes per game for 34,4%, and is a gritty defender. He is one of those heart and soul players you want on his team. He would immediately be the starter at the three.
While it may seem like too much to give up THT and Nunn, THT is not ready to help yet and there is no viable way for the Lakers to re-sign Nunn. So a deal like this midseason makes sense. Lakers suddenly get another elite starter on a tradeable contract and won’t lose Nunn for nada. Brooks has the attitude that’s perfect for this Lakers team.

LOL. So much for all of those who were willing to spend $10 to $20 million of Kevin’s family’s money.

I think it’s more about Gilbert’s greed outweighs anything logical, my friend.

Gilbert let Baron Davis rot on the end of the Cavs bench rather than seeing him win a title in Miami…He’s definitely made the same calculation 🧮 with Love.

Someone noticed how Drummond walked away from a pile of cash and it didn’t magically re-appear because they wanted it to. Smart.
