Marc’s situation is eerily similar to that of Ben Simmons. When you feel betrayed the ill feelings linger no matter how much you try to repair such a relationship. Marc was trying to do the best he could to put the situation under the rug but at the back of his mind, the sting is too much to forget. Ben’s situation is even more stinging given that the situation is irreparable. Even those who forgive can’t seem to get over their grief sometimes. So parting ways mutually seem the better option. I love Marc for his professionalism and basketball IQ. I wish him the best and I hope the Grizzlies will honor him and retire his jersey one day. After all, he’s only less than 50 points behind Conley for the most points in franchise history, if my memory could serve me.
