Aloha
Well I liked what we did to a point, then things have went a little sideways. For me the most important signing was if LeBron is going to start at the 4, landing a 3 with size to start for our MLE was critical. That hadn’t happened and most of the top prospects have signed except Rudy Gay. Now the Warriors just signed Otto Porter so that may land us Paddy Mills. We also have just AD and LeBron for the 4. There hasn’t been a peep about Keef or Wes. Keef is even more critical now.
Now it looks like the Wizards are closing in on Dinwiddie. So any hope of sending Dennis there is over and if the Nets do a sign and trade you might see Kuz on his way to the Nets. Ending hopes of expanding the trade for Buddy.
So what happens now with Dennis?
Melo could also be on his way to the Knicks for more as well. Unless another team shows interest in Dennis, the best we maybe able to do is Gay, Mills, Keef and Wes. That’s not bad but I was hoping for a little more.
Still it’s not over till it’s over. So we will see.

To each his own Michael, I feel differently.

If Ellington signed for the Vet min and didn’t have to split the TPMLE…that’s chicken🐓🥗 salad not chicken 🐓💩…

Free agency is a Rorschach test…what’s interesting is as a fan of the Lakers I’ve never felt jealousy (worried some one will take what you have)…nor envious (wanting what someone else has)…

Some Lakers fans just won’t let it go that the Warriors model had so much luck…the Wolves passed on Steph (twice) Steph got hurt a lot during his rookie contract and the Warriors benefited with cap space. The Kings rejected Iggy’s contract…etc…

Bazemore likely will shoot around 36-37% from deep. Plays good defense…Ariza is 36 and can still ball….All I see is chicken salad.

Lakers have a lot riding on whether they’re able to get Patty Mills for the mini MLE. If they land Mills, then I think they may have gotten the shooting they needed as Patty and Wayne both take over 6 threes per game.
Is there still a chance to get Buddy or another non-vet shooter? Depends on whether they can pull off a S&T for Dennis and Alex. That’s two shots at non-veteran shooters that could be as much as the mini MLE, which is why the Lakers aren’t filling up the roster with vet minimum contracts. There could also be some switches as to which player gets signed to what extension, etc.
Losing Caruso was a bummer. I would have gone with the win now move and kept Alex and moved THT but obviously the luxury tax is a force the Lakers are struggling with. I think they’ve left open the chance that they could get Buddy but like Pincus said, they may have decided that’s too expensive too.
Still a long way to go until Friday so I’m still hoping Rob will pull off getting Patty and Buddy or another big time shooter. Reminds me when everybody was saying Rob had screwed up on the AD trade and not cleared enough cap space to sign Kawhi. Let’s hope Rob knows what he’s doing and will still pull this off.
