Dallas is progressing in its attempts to hire Igor Kokoskov as an assistant coach to Jason Kidd, league sources say.
Kokoskov, who coached Luka Doncic to a EuroBasket title in 2017, is head coach at Turkish power Fenerbahce and would have to be released from his Fener contract.

Talked about this awhile ago with alotta the foreign players not having the chance to build long relationships with American coaches early in their development…unlike guys here who start getting notice as early as 8th grade. Could be a good move by the Mavs to placate Luka a bit.
They definitely need to do something positive considering the dysfunction and problems with their front office or risk possibly losing Luka down the road. He is their FRANCHISE player.
