Maybe it’s me. I’m 36, I’m looking at my 4th grade photo, out of the 25 kids, 14 are white…It’s the way some of us grew up, I was conscious and comfortable that some of my classmates looked differently than me…

My best friend was Chris and he was Filipino, and another good friend Vince, had a black mom and a white dad. Im not trying to describe a utopia, that being said theres wasn’t tension either. We all grew up together and were exposed to different cultures…

Point being, I think Juneteenth is as part of American History as July 4th . Seems to be a celebration for ALL Americans to me, and there’s protests to counter how divisive it is? Makes no sense to me.

Yep, the 4th of July was only Independence for almost all White peeps. I spent a week and more teaching Civil Rights and showed my kids “King” mini-series. I wonder if I could do that today?

About time we as a nation admit and recognize the offensive and immoral history of this country when it comes to slavery. Nothing is more repugnant and horrifying than the idea of ignoring or denying having made it legal to enslave other humans. WTF is wrong with people to want to deny or hide rather than learn from our evil mistakes.

Also we think about mostly Whites that took from Native Americans over and over and over and…….Our children need to learn so they will not makes the mistakes our Before-Fathers made. And, had 2 friends die in Nam and I can go anytime now and prance around there.
